Here is a fitness tip for you all this week.
Maintaining a proper form is more important than the amount of reps you do, it’s better to do 10 proper reps than 15 somewhat okay ones. To watch my form, especially when I do anything with weights, I like to stand in front of a mirror when doing my leg or arm workouts. This also helps me focus more and tune out the rest of the room.
Form is also important when running or doing cardio. A lot of people don’t realize this, but if you don’t maintain a proper running form you may not go as far as your body is capable of. There is also a much bigger chance of injuring yourself.
If you’re not sure about what the proper form is for certain workouts, there’s a lot of information out there if you search for it. You can also consult a trainer at a gym for a day or 2 and they will teach you the proper form as well as using the equipment at the gym. When I first started working out, I always went with friends who knew what they were doing and they taught me all I know. So a big thank you go goes out to those awesome friends.
I’ll be posting new tips every week, so check back if you’re looking for ways to change up your workouts or just need some simple tips to get started.
